Seals For Piezoelectric And Pneumatic Jetting Valves

2026-08-26

Piezoelectric valves and pneumatic jetting valves are both used in high-frequency precision dispensing, but their sealing priorities are not identical. Piezoelectric valve seals often focus on high-frequency reciprocating motion, low friction, and stable precision movement. Pneumatic jetting valve seals may also face higher temperature, solvent corrosion, and needle impact. Seal selection should therefore review valve type, frequency, temperature, media, and energizer design together.

Piezoelectric valve seal selection

Piezoelectric valves may be used in chip packaging, camera modules, Micro LED, and precision electronics. In these applications, the seal may need to handle high-frequency impact, wear, glue or media compatibility, and low-friction movement. If the sealing material generates too much friction or wear, dispensing stability can be affected.

Filled PTFE, PEEK, and UPE can be discussed as material directions. Filled PTFE can support low-friction, wear-resistant, and chemical-media directions. PEEK can be reviewed for strength, wear resistance, and higher-temperature requirements. UPE can be reviewed where very low friction and wear resistance are important. Final material selection should still be confirmed by media, particles, temperature, pressure, and valve structure.

Pneumatic jetting valve seal selection

Pneumatic jetting valves may be used in PCB assembly, underfill, silver paste coating, and automotive electronics. Compared with piezoelectric valves, pneumatic jetting valves may involve higher temperature, solvent corrosion, and needle impact. In these conditions, seal selection should review heat resistance, fatigue resistance, and chemical-media compatibility.

Filled PTFE, FKM, and PEEK can be discussed as material directions. When high frequency and high temperature appear together, a metal spring energizer should usually be evaluated. Spring material may be discussed around SUS316 or Elgiloy depending on corrosion, temperature, and fatigue requirements. Ordinary O-rings should not be used as a simple replacement before the real frequency, temperature, and media conditions are checked.

For RFQ, buyers should provide valve type, sealing position, drawing or sample, frequency, pressure, temperature, glue or solvent type, particles, cleaning chemical exposure, target quantity, and sampling schedule. DEF Seals can discuss drawing-based customization, sample-based customization, material direction, and small-batch sampling for these projects.

FAQ:
Q: Why are ordinary O-rings not always suitable for high-frequency dispensing valves?
A: High frequency can increase friction, heat, and elastic fatigue. O-rings should be evaluated by temperature, media, motion frequency, and maintenance requirements.

Q: Why does spring material matter in pneumatic jetting valves?
A: Pneumatic jetting valves may involve high frequency, high temperature, and impact. Spring material affects temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and fatigue behavior.
